Testimonials

I am humbled and honored to have the endorsement of so many community members!

“Exceptionally hardworking, collaborative, respectful and honest” - Suzanne McGinn and Wyman Briggs, CELT Board of Directors Members
Based on our six years working closely with her on the Cape Elizabeth Land Trust’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee, we wholeheartedly support Elizabeth Goodspeed’s candidacy for the Cape Elizabeth School Board.

Elizabeth is exceptionally hardworking, collaborative, respectful and honest, traits which make her a top choice for the School Board. While serving on CELT’s Board of Directors, including 2 years as CELT’s Board President during a busy and dynamic period, Elizabeth oversaw the procurement of four major properties, completion of a $6M campaign, hiring of a new Executive Director and three key staff members, and renewal of the Land Trust’s accreditation. As a committed volunteer, she routinely dedicated dozens of hours per week to fill in for staff vacancies and ensure key deadlines were met. In chairing board meetings and workshops, Elizabeth listened carefully to all input, diplomatically asked follow-up questions and forged consensus solutions.  As Board President, she ensured staff members’ needs were addressed by the board, deftly represented the organization in interactions with the Town Council and ensured required policies and procedures were in order. Elizabeth’s proven work ethic, collaborative nature and integrity would serve her well in effectively supporting the best interests of students, staff, and residents as a new member of the School Board.

“Adept at cooling tempers and proposing fair solutions” - Sara Lennon, Member, Comprehensive Plan Committee
Elizabeth is thoughtful, respectful, and smart. I learn every time we talk—not just information but perspective, breadth of thought, and practical solutions. She is generous and delightful. We served together on the Comprehensive Plan Committee for two years. The work is important, the process deliberative and often challenging. Navigating differing opinions is essential to progress, yet arguments and impasses are inevitable given the passions and various roles being represented. Elizabeth was adept at cooling tempers and proposing fair solutions. She speaks when it's helpful, is patient and a great listener. Elizabeth has my wholehearted endorsement; join me in voting for Elizabeth Goodspeed for School Board.
